Secondo me sa meglio lui l' italiano di quanto io sappia lo svedese..

Domenica mattina io e Andrew ci siam divertiti con una Vinter Serien, circuito di garette della domenica mattina, che allietano gli allenamenti invernali degli orientisti stoccolmesi.
Una bella giornata di sole, un bel -7° lo stesso,  le paludi ghiacciate ma la neve soffice. Ci siam buttati nel bosco appena dopo mezzogiorno, null'ultimo buco utile per partire. Un'ora e mezza di gara per me, nessun grosso errore e una fatica porca.
Correre in questo paradiso e con questo clima è proprio una vera figata. Inutile che vi dica che è tutt'altro che facile, con impronte un po' da tutte le parti e le forme addolcite dalla neve. Meno male che il mio passo tartaruga mi aiuta a non fare troppe cappelle.

Tonight long run on tracks with -10°C. Still not enough snow!

When Polisen want have an hard control about drivers is used to do something like this: they stay just beside the road (actually was a road with 3-4 lines) and every 30sec they stop 4-5 cars.Every hour they change quarter.
I left my restaurant at 8.40 ready to delivery food and after 300mt a policeman jump in the road in front of me..
Driving license ok. ID card ok. Personnr ok. And then they asked me to blow in a little tube for alcoholtesting. I was ok also there.
But no one asked something about what I was carrying..

Last monday I visited the new Växthuset (Green House) in Stockholm.
You can find there several kind of shrubs and plants: tropical palms, cactus from California, Aloe from South Africa and more.
But maybe, I was more interested about the shape and materials of this building: walls and roof in glass and structure completely in steel. The engineer that made the structure calculations received an european prize in Colonia in 1995.
Later in the evening I went for my first time at cinema watching "The prestige". Nice choice!
Unfortunately there wasn' t pause in the middle of the movie..so, no pop-corn for me!
Probably only in Italy we have that break..

Yesterday was time of Kavlemiddag (stafett dinner): during the last season IFK Lidingö' s men and women got points in the end of every relay (Tiomila, Jukola, Smålandskavlen, SM, DM, etc) and the result said the winner were the men. The prize is a dinner made from the losers. It' s the second time in a row..
Someone told me probably next year the men will make the dinner because we lose a Runner called Johan Näsman (even if we get Fredrik Johansson from Ulricehamns OK - silver at JWOC 2006) and the girls have 2 new members: Erika Christensson from Halden SK and Alexandra Vejedal from Ulricehamns OK).
First of all in the afternoon began snowing..
We (only the men) had fun all together in a pre-fest at Martin Terry's flat. Then, when the women started be worried, we reached the club house and the party began with a hot welcome.
They prepared by themselves hors d'oeuvre, pasta, rost beef, salades, panna cotta..everything was really good and so aphrodisiac!
They gave us also a beautiful present: they made a sexy calendar with in every month a top top girl in a semi-naked position! That' s amazing..It' s already hanged up in my bedroom.
The night was really long with snow fights, sauna, showers and funny dance.
Hopefully we found a warm flat where we could sleep a couple of hours (tack Anna)! We got back this morning at 12 and we found our car under 30cm of snow!
I knew before it was something you cannot miss..and in the end I understood once again my klubb is "Sveriges roligaste orienteringsklubb" (swedish funniest o-club)!

From 1 week I started running every single day..
Even if I feel little pain every right step, I decided to start in any case with slow pace runs ( not more than 40min) and lot of stretching.
After more than 70days, my training diary is open again..

It' s time to improve my swedish.
When I came back here after holiday in Italy, I started speaking swedish as much as I could: at work with some friends, at training with my Lidingö clubmates and during the night in the town with some nice girls.
I' ll start soon talking swedish also with Seèro at home. Even if it will be like speak with a wall, I think it' s good also for him!
This afternoon I had a test at SFI (swedish for immigrants) to jump in a new course. They will reply me by letter and I' ll know my swedish level. The course will start in 2-3 weeks.

Living in Japan for an orienteer must be not so easy.
Most of all international competitions are around Europe and you have to spend a lot of your time in travelling.
I would like to understand more about orienteering life of the best Japanese Yoko Bamba, actually ranked 96th in the World Ranking.
I tried to leave a message in her website (only in Japanese) but it seems it doesn' t work. I just want to suggest her to write also in english..

Father Xmas gave me a special gift: the Autobiography of Boris Becker.
Since I started watching sports in TV I falled in love in his dancing serving style. He is the youngest player (17 years old) winning the crown in Wimbledon. His exuberant athletic style hurling himself all over the court and making seemingly impossible shots!
Immediately I started playing tennis in my free time and, when I couldn' t go in a proper field, I hit the ball against my house wall..
His turbolent personal life, with drugs and various women, make me even more interested!

1in the town is very difficult find out a gratis parking place. In the covered park at Globen (one of the modern  building in Stockholm with a huge shopping center) you can park for free for at max 2 hours..
2in sweden it' s easier have a army license than have a permission to sell wine and alcohol in a restaurant!

This evening we organized the SBN #3. Nice weather and nice course (with 2 butterfly) planned by Andrew Quin. Still no snow in the forrest but little rain and mud made the competition tougher..
Our teammate Matte Johansson won the mass start in front of Petr Losman by 35sec.
Results

My physiotherapist in Lidingö checked my knee again.
In the last month nothing relevant happened. It seems not common pain and I think he doesn' t know exactly what the problem is.
Next monday he' ll look at my RMI with some specialist.
At the moment he gave me an elastic band "Back on track", a fabric of polyester with a ceramic powder melted into the threads. The ceramic reflects body heat as an infrared wave, a form of energy that has a documented pain relieving effect.
I' ll try running tomorrow and I' ll see..

And finally we got back in Stockholm.
With us, this time, we brought our snowboards.
Wheather forecast said temperatures will fall down during next w-e.
We already found a really cheap flights (40 euros) for the further north..probably we' ll see the World Champs in Åre!

During Xmas time I spent a week up in the Alpes with some italian friends. We lived in a beautiful flat in Cavalese (Val di Fiemme), with not-so-white mountains all around us. We had great time all together: snowboarding (even if on the slopes you could find stones and flowers) , nice parties, shopphing and drank good wine.
I tried for the first time Ski-Mountaineering: we climbed up to 2300m in the night with head lamp. It was fantastic and from the top I could have seen a landscape I never forget..
On 31th december we skied with strange caps on (viking, curly yellow hair, Lego's cap, Robin Hood and more): before last downhill we stopped in a crowdy pub and a man payed us 70euro for one of those. It was unbelievable!
