After 6 month living here in Sverige I' m thinking about what I learned and what's completely different from Mamma Italia.

Almost all people met asked me why I left Italy for this cold and "strange" country: we' re well known for good food, beautiful women, amazing landscapes, historical towm (Rome, Venice, Florence), chaotic traffic, our funny political events, having at least one football in every car, dressing nice, Dolomites, etc.

I try writing down the main differents:

_Snus: 1 snus bag = smoking 10 cigarettes. But, if you smoke, you damage also yours neighbours. This "fashion" is a part of swedish culture: only in Sweden you can buy and sell snus without beeing arrested. In the other countries it' s considered drug!

_Godis: gummy sweets. In every corner you can find a huge sort of Godis. When they build supermarket, they start always from the Godis' wall! Mums, old people, policemen eat it without everyday: why I didn' t study as dentist?

_Politic: Fredrik Reinfeldt and his Moderaterna won the vote 2 weeks a go after 12 years of Socialdemokraterna government. It will change something?

_O8: this is Stockholm telephon prefix. But also people from countryside are used to call stockholm peolple noll-åtta (08). Am I a 08?

_Social life: scandinavian blood is not hot as latin blood. They aren' t out-going like us. But if you go out on wednesday, friday and saturday you can meet easyly people: these are the alcool rules! Alcool is very expensive here and they don' t drink wine or beer during meals..
"When you' re in a pub and have in front of you a beer, you have to be quickly and finish it as fast as you can: it doesn' t matters if you have a blond girl just sitted beside you. Drink that beer and go immediatly to order another one!" someone told me.

_Music: after USA and UK, Sweden is the most export music country. Madonna and Britney Spears came here performing their CDs. Lot of qualified producers live here.

_Weapons market: even if Sweden was out of World wars, Bofors Group in Karlskoga (a town in the west) is the world leader for development of selected weapon systems!

_Wireless connections: you can walk on the street with your ladtop and I' m sure that you' ll be able to navigate. No one (or probably 95%) change the default settings of wireless connection. Why? Because people are not very well using computer and because they trust in you!

Wheather is changing..
Since one week I go out training whit long clothes and whit 1st Craft layer! Soon, in the afternoon, I' ll bring headlamp whit me. Its light will leave me after 2 hours: so, not so many mistakes please..

October is a really exciting stafett month! I' ll run the following relays:

-25Manna - 7th Oct
-Halikko Viesti Finland - 14th Oct
-Smålandskavlen - 28-29th Oct

Probably I' ll take part also at Blodslitet in Norway on 21th: at the moment I think it's to much for my legs but maybe I should go there only to enjoy the party!

This w-e Lidingöloppet has been held: it's the biggest cross-country running competition in the world! More than 28000 runners took part in this 3 days event.
Our Orienteering Club was one of the organizers (LL is our main sponsor) and we all togheter did a perfect  job. In the end all the functionaries were so happy (and tired of course) because we understood  that people will come again next year!
The strong World European Finnish O-Champion Jani Lakanen was 4th in the 30km. He had a great job and he finished just behind the ET African guys!
"Karro" Höjsgaard, after her O-ringen injury, took 7th place 2min later Ida Nilsson in the Lidingötjejloppet (10km).

The extreme-left leader Lars Ohly showed his dissadisfaction (after the vote results) with middle finger to Marie Söderqvist Tralau live on TV4. "You' re a typical comunist.." she senteced. But he regreted soon..

It seems here they don' t care about bad words showed in TV, Radio, newspapers, etc. Every movies, cartoons, TV series are in mother language: so, even if you are in the afternoon with all the kids at home, you can ear all these words. It' s funny, isn' t it? 

Recipe for a square like a oven tray For the dough: - yeast 1 cube 25 gr - plain flour 500-600 gr - one table spoon of salt - 3-4 table spoon olive oil - water For the filling: - mozzarella - one tin of tomato - 2-3 table spoon oil - salt - fresh basil - oregan - capers

Melt yeast with one glass of warm (not so cold, not so hot) water.
Add it to the flour in a bowl togheter with salt and oil.
If necessary, add water to obtain a soft dough.

Lit oven for 5-10 min temperature 60° degrees.
Put the dough in a bowl. Make a cut like a cross on top of it and leave it for 70-90 min.
Put baking paper on oven tray and roll out to about 1 cm.
In a smaller bowl you have prepared one tin of  good quality peeled tomato or tomato sauce (NO Ketchup), 3 spoon olive oil, fresh, basil, oregan, capers (of course if you used peeled tomatoes brake them with a fork).

Spread this filling all over the pastry and put it in pre-heated oven at 230-240° for 15-20 min.
When you’re about to take out the pizza put on top mozzarella (real mozzarella like Santa Lucia) chopped in small squares.
When mozzarella is melt you can enjoy your pizza!

 

This is the basic and the real pizza taste!
Filling can be different:
olives, anchovies, ham, vegetables (peppers, eggplants, zucchini), etc.


Dears Swedish, please don' t throw money away eating Pizza in some "Pizzeria" in Stockholm..Make it by yourself! You' ll have fun!

Last sunday our Misha Mamleev didn' t run Italian Relay Champs because he hasn' t enough teammates..
But today at SM Stafett he was able to bring up his OK Orion from 7th place to 3rd one."Jag är satisfaied!" he sad to the speaker..Well, with his 63'04" he did the 2nd best time in the anchor leg!

Our Johan Näsman, IFK Lidingö' s anchor man, finished 6th after a big fight with Niclas Jonasson (Leksands OK) and Mats Troeng (OK Linné). Superb 2nd leg for Emil "Pinocchio" Lauri whu carryed the team from 29th to 5th position!
Girls took bronze medal, as they did last year.

Why 93,6 % of Ryanair' s hostesses are not so beauty women?
Since when I was young my "perfect hostess" was high, long hair, ginocchia a punta, light eyes,etc..
But now I'm asking if I'm wrong or Ryanair select them like a lottery!
But, like St Augustine sad, " the world is a book and those who do not travel, read only a page". If it's like this, I prefer go out in a forest..

I was at Stansted Airport 2 days a go. Since one month the security level became higher: you can bring just one hand luggage and they reduced its possible dimensions, you cannot have cosmeticts and any kind of liquid and also you must taking off your shoes!
I was really surprised about it: I started thinking that probably in less than one year people will be nacked (with only slip or perizoma) like in a crowded beach waiting for some mohjto or bier..But if it is for our safety I' ll do without problems and I' ll enjoy it!
But for sure in the next come back home I'll try to avoid this xxxxxxx Stansted!

P.s.: It became also a "hard bedroom" for Sèero yesterday night!

Last w-e Italian Championships was held in Jenesien, a beautiful scenary just few km from Bolzano.
On saturday we ran Long Distance and the next day the Relay.
Our team was staying in a pretty farm in the middle of nowhere but all our meals were home made and all the ingredients such as butter, milk, cheese, yoghurt were of their own production: probably this was of help to our legs during all the w-e!

Long Distance: only at the beginning I felt like at "home" whit lots of controls in detailed area. Later on it was just running like in beautiful Primiero valley! I started feeling tired at the end of the first loop and the big "wall" just 1km later was my "swan song". I was togheter with Caraglio who helped me to reach the finish without big mistakes.
The winner as expected was Misha Mamleev who caught up during his performance the 2nd one (Tavernaro) and 3rd one (Rigoni) in the end. I cannot be satisfaided with my 9th place..
Resultat

Relay: Clear victory! Althought we knew that in our team there were no Top Top Runners, we were confident that if we had managed to perform 3 regular legs we could have the possibility to reach the podium or more..During the whole competition the gap between us and the second ones became bigger ana bigger: our Big anchor-man Pagliari crossed the finish line  whit more that 4min ahead Schgaguler (TOL) and Tavernaro (FFGG)!
Thank you guys!

Now, our victory xx xxxx in 2004 is really behind our shoulders!

The first one is a squirrel!

This morning we ran DM Stafett.
Sero ran the 3rd leg in the 4th team and I was the anchor man in the 3rd team.
Andrew (3rd leg runner) sent me out in 6th position, just few second before Hans Mård (Ok Ravinen).
I started quite well, without mistakes and I was able to see the Hans's back untill the 8th control. After that control I ran up in a big flat hill without checking the direction and when was the time to attack the 9th control I didn't know my exact position. I tried the same to run up, finding some features that could help me, but I was really confused. I lost there the possibility to fight (?) for the 5th place.Then my concentration started to be lower and lower and I missed also the next control. I tried later to push hard for reduce the gap but my orienteering was poor and I gave up when I missed the warning control (a cross of tracks).
In the end we were 6th the same but I cannot be satisfied.
Our first stafetts were 2nd and 4th..so, licka till for SM!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Resultat

We' re in Sweden. We live just 1km from Ikea. Our furnitures are a little bit old..so, 2+2=4!
We were able to stay away of it just one day!
Sero started to plan his new bedroom: but, as you can see in the pictures, he had some problems (like every Italiano Medio) to build it up..ibland it happens!
I took the Katalog 2007 and I'm thinking about somethings..

How to know a person?
Probably look at his/her things?
Cleaning the bathroom and the bedroom we found lots of books and something else that can help us to put in a picture the finnish woman whu lived here before..

Tonight "our" Sero took part in DM Natt.
I decided not to run because I' m still not practiced and I' m afraid of the night ;-) But soon the darkness will arrive around 4pm..so, I' ll have to do that!
I was there waiting for him..I took some pictures of the Lidingö guys and did some public relations.
I was also able to miss him on the run-in: he' s still angry whit me!
We planned to go out after the competition but Sero' s legs were mycket trött!
