by serojack (03/06/2009 - 13:27)

L’Università rilascia certificati solamente in italiano.

During this moment of the season we have the opportunity to correct (changing/improving) our o-technique.
We are running specific trainings with different moments during the courses like simplification, direction, picking controls, etc. Both during the day and the night..
That´s really usefull and helpfull: it´s tiring both for your legs and mind!
Last w-e we ran also Mr. TG training he made for the Swedish National Team during a conference in november.

Again

by serojack (09/19/2008 - 16:51)

Norway

by serojack (08/13/2008 - 21:57)

Last week I went to Norway for some holiday.

I visited first Oslo and the mythical Holmenkollens jumping hill.
Then I drove west to Lysefjorden where I ran up to the famous Kjeragbolten (below the boulder is a sheer drop of about 1000m to the fjord) and I had a nice trip with the boat..
I saw nice landscapes (like in Switzerland and Scotland) on the way to Bergen where I couldn' t sleep because every single room was booked because of Eric Clapton concert..Anyway I visited the old town and surroundings and still now I think that' s better then the capital Oslo.
Last and the worst Lillehammer where I thought they should do something better after the Olympics Games in 1994..

Oringen 08

by serojack (07/27/2008 - 18:19)

Missed:

-famiglia Baccega
-una pasta con i veneti

by serojack (07/07/2008 - 12:15)

I took pictures from yesterdays JWOC men relay start.
As you can see there are lot of runners who cannot stay behind their maps because there' s not enough room for everyone..not so good from the swedish organizers! Look at the british guy..
Hopefully next year in Primiero-Italy it will be much better!

Great performance of ANDREA SEPPI at JWOC in Gothenburg: he finished in 5th place at Sprint distance!

Already at EYOC 2005s Sprint distance he swohed his class reaching the 3rd position, 15 seconds behind the leader Štěpán Kodeda from Czech Republic.

Yesterday the winner was again Kodeda and the gap was only 14 seconds..

Well done ANDREA!!

Jukola 2008

by serojack (06/17/2008 - 11:47)

I' m not still recovered after 2 all-nights-standing but I have still forces to write down some lines about this week-end somewhere outside Tampere in Finland.
I want to thank all my mates and my coaches because now probably I understood something more about the meaning of the word TEAM.

I couldn' t train as I would in the last weeks because of a over stretch in the back of my thigh. Thus I was little bit unsure about my capacity to keep the right flow in the forest.
As a typical stupid guy I didn' t care about that and I decided to push quite hard because I knew you had to be aggressive in that tough terrain.

The plan was quite simple:
-no mistakes at the first control
-stay in the pack and check his direction always

I never understood my position during the race because of packs of runners cames everywhere. Of course, when you are running with Halden, Kalevan Rasti and Vaajakosken Terä you can be sure that you are not so bad..Just after let Petter run his perfect race someone told me I changed over around 30th position in a big pack..

I' ll remember for a long time:

-the last 30 seconds before the "take off": incredible silence around you..
-on the way to the first control when I saw that was really dark (especially in the green areas) and I knew my capacities in night-orienteering
- "Dai Giacomo, forza!" Giancarlo Simion was just behind me at 2/3 of the race. Well done Gian!
- After shower and sauna when I saw Pinnen (our 3rd runner) changing in 10th position..at that moment I decided to stay awake all the night

We finished as 31st team:a really good result for a 2nd team!

Huge

by serojack (06/11/2008 - 09:40)

On saturday night I' ll run the first leg (2nd team) at Jukola in Kaanaa-Tampere.
It has to be really cool, expecially when you have other 1453 runners around you..luckily I have number 49: it means I' m in a good position nearly in front of the pack.

We had 2 Jukola-test last week-end in some relevant terrains around Stockholm. I ran good in both and, as our coaches Fredrik L and Oskar M said, it was really difficult to make the teams..that' s good! IFK Lidingö has 2 strong teams (as usual) on the starting line!

Everyone in the club is looking forward to a nice week-end in Finland..probably something like last year?

Stockholm City Cup 08

by serojack (06/01/2008 - 16:25)

14 May - Humlegården

The course was too easy. You could see the controls already 100 meters before. It was like a cross country race. Anyway I could miss the route choice to the 7th control..
Results

21 May - Gröna Lund

We knew before the start that the legs 4th-5th and 12th-13th didn' t count for the final result.
Because of that the meaning of Sprint orienteering went away: the crucial legs were exactly after 13th control!
After 17th control we ran into Tivoli Park with lot of people walk around: some runners had problems with that chaos..not those ones who are used to run in Venice!
Results

28 May - Vinterviken

It was chasing start for the first best 10 runners in the earlier stages.
I started as 4th runner, 3 seconds behind Peter Hemmyr.
Already on the way to the 2nd control I was in a pack with Hemmyr and Skarholt. We have been togheter all the way to the 12th control where I missed the control: I couldn' t read the butterfly area and I was standing just 50m from it..I missed also the first control of the first loop.
I finished in 6th position. Not so bad for this kind of Spriddle!

TC in Finland

by serojack (06/01/2008 - 11:27)

Last week end we were in Tampere-Finland to check and familiarize with Jukola terrains.
We had a really good time with our club friends from MS Parma.
Good runnability on the top of the hills and green areas and marshes down in the slopes. Visibility is quite good almost everywhere: that' s what we took home from this training camp.
Guys from Parma were faster in the forest but we won football match at least!
See you on 2 weeks..

10Mila taste

by serojack (04/26/2008 - 12:00)

Just got back from a morning jog to check the legs for tomorrrow morning..
A last leg is waiting for me!
This year we have a really competitive 2nd team. Our goal is to be the best 2nd team and reach the top 30 as well.Tough job!
Yesterday night we had the last meeting with our coaches and I can say the feeling is good and everyone is relaxed.
This year the long-night leg and the last leg are straight.8th and 9th are really short (5,6km). Because of this, the big teams are planning to go away from the pack during the 6th and 7th legs..You can have a quick look at the startlist to understand immediately who' ll fight in those legs!
This afternoon we' re going to support "our" girls who have a good chance to bring IT home..
Stay tuned!

News about Sero

by serojack (04/24/2008 - 13:31)

Nothing more.
I didn' t like the rock terrains in Le Caylar and the sand and steep terrains in Sisteron.
I wish all the best to everyone is going to 6days later this year..

We took also a "day off" up in the Alps skiing and sunbathing. Really nice!

Alive

by serojack (02/27/2008 - 20:13)

Last one was an intense week-end.
We went for a training camp with the club in relevant terrains for Swedish Champs. Klaus Schgaguler was the main guest.
On friday night we had "tough" middle distance. Not good sensations and many mistakes for me.
The day after I had the possibility to walk/run in the forest with Fredrik Löwegren: really usefull stuff! We walked and he told us what you have to see/check in your way to the controls. Even if we were in really difficult terrain with lot of features you have to find just the ones more importants..not so easy!
In the afternoon we ran ol-intervals. I' m still not ready for such speed.
When we got back to Stockholm Klaus asked for a special night in Stureplan: with some other italian and spanish friends we went at Blue Moon Bar and enjoyed the night. In the begin it was time for trans-show: we were frightened to have chosen the wrong place..but after a while blond girls showed up as usually!
I went home really late and Sero was waiting for me at the door with our snowboards in the bag..in 10min I changed my clothes and became ready for a sunday on the slopes in Kungsberget, 250km north of Stockholm. Great day with a warm sun..

On friday I' m going down to Sisteron and Larzac, in the southern part of France. 10 days of training camp with MS Parma and Paimon Rasti, 2 finnish clubs.

It' s soon 2 months I can run everyday: my shape is acceptable at the moment but I have still to improve a lot my technique..

Lesson n1

by serojack (12/16/2007 - 20:20)

Just got back from Åland in Finland for 4 tricky trainings (2 in the night and 2 in the "fog"). It' s nice to know that just a short trip can bring you in a such orienteering paradise. Anyway night trainings went quite well for me even if I don' t like that (I think night is made for other things). "Probably Tiomila it will be not such difficult" told us Fredrik "but anyway we have to be ready for some really technical controls". We fixed some points that now are hanged on my room beside the Lidingös girls calendar. During the day I understood something new: 1-is not always right to go in the top of the hills for approaching controls and 2-look as far as you can in the open area.
Nice club friends made it more funny.

The Netherlands wants build a new singular island just outside his coast.
They need more land for agriculture and in the meanwhile will have a new protection from the sea..and probably new business too!
Something like that exists already in Dubai (a palm island) and Singapore.
Will it be another ecological nightmare?

Whats next?

by serojack (12/13/2007 - 18:21)

- It seems that IFK Lidingö will be much more competitive: Jonn Are Myhren (6th middle distance WOC Ukraine) and Annika Billstam (silver medal at relay WOC Ukraine) joined the club some weeks a go. Both girls and boys have serious possibilities to fix some good results at the big relays..
Will be Jonn Are able to go away from the others in the dark and straight långa-natten next year at Tiomila?

-And tomorrow we' ll go to Åland (Finland) for the first seasons training camp. Fredrik Löwegren will join us as new coach. I' m looking forward to do some really technical training in the finnish rocky open areas.

-Knee: I' m going on with alternative trainings and sometimes (twice a week) I' m trying to run on soft surfaces. Strength, massage and anti-inflammatory are doing the rest. Hope I' ll be back on track soon..

-A new iPhone Apple is coming with Father Xmas!
